Background and Qualifications

Ms. Mercy G. Mbabu is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Professional Mediator with experience in Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Employment and Labour Relations Law, Real Estate, Banking & Finance Law, Constitutional Law, and Commercial Transactions. She currently serves as an Associate in the Firm, where she advises and represents both corporate and individual clients in a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious legal matters before Courts and Tribunals.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law. She has also undertaken professional training in International Trade Policy and Trade Law at the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA) and holds certifications in Data Protection and Mediation.

With a strong foundation in litigation, legal research, advocacy, regulatory interpretation, and transaction management, Mercy is committed to delivering practical, strategic, and client-centered legal solutions. Her legal practice is guided by professionalism, integrity, innovation, and excellence.

Beyond legal practice, Mercy is passionate about mentorship, community service, child advocacy, and leadership development, having actively participated in legal aid and youth mentorship initiatives.

Experience

Mercy has actively represented and advised clients in various contentious and non-contentious matters before subordinate courts, superior courts, and tribunals. Her practice encompasses commercial disputes, employment and labour relations matters, constitutional petitions, debt recovery proceedings, family and succession matters, and environment and land disputes.

Her conveyancing and real estate practice involves securing and protecting clients’ interests in land and property transactions. She has also been involved in preparing documentation for property acquisitions, disposals, financing, and developments, as well as reviewing and drafting a wide range of commercial agreements and banking documents. Mercy routinely advises clients on regulatory compliance requirements relating to land transactions, commercial dealings, and corporate operations while ensuring effective risk management and protection of clients’ interests.

In addition, she has extensive experience in legal drafting, preparation of court pleadings, applications and submissions, legal research, case analysis, and development of litigation strategies. She also provides advisory services on employment contracts, workplace policies, and corporate compliance matters.
